It's been more common lately.
The thing I hate about it is I normally use the thank you post as "they saw it" confirmation, but when they don't I never know if I need to bump for them, or if they're just going to remake the thread in like two days or something.

thanks are rare. whenever i get a thank for fulfilling a request, i thank them back. but no further, because it's not a circle jerk.
