Anyone got any good indie comic books to read, that are more down-to-Earth, slice of life, and 'artsy' I guess? Kinda like an indie dramady movie but in comic book form?
Thank you.
Between failures is a great one, it's about the crew of a rundown walmart wannabe. ( betweenfailures . com/ )
Besides the obvious Scott Pilgrim, I'd say Sex Criminals.

Sex Criminals? Really? Huh.
And yeah, stuff like Scott Pilgrim is what I'm looking for.
The Li'l Depressed Boy I liked from what I read of it, but it was just 'okay' and pretty typical.
bump
any others?

It's got plenty of horror/fantasy conflict, but Rachel Rising would be up your alley regardless.
Rachel's a fuckin cutie, too.

If you're asking this stuff I'm guessing you already know about Adrian Tomine and Chris Ware and Dan Clowes (some of his stuff is surreal/absurdist, but a lot of it is slice-of-life), but I'll recommend them anyway just in case.
American Splendor.
