What the thing you need is will depend greatly on you. For some it's a goal to work towards, for others it's a few specifically meaningful items, for others it's the acclaim of peers or the love of a companion.

Essentially, the first step in finding happiness is knowing yourself. When you know where you're incomplete, then you'll know where addition is needed.
