I feel like I should know this, but what exactly does 近い気 mean? I know what 近い and 気 mean on their own, but I'm a little bit confused about the meaning in this context. Is he saying he feels close to her, or is he literally talking about a close mood? Sorry if I'm being an idiot, I'm really new to jap.
