So my brother and I are unscrewing an old computer and this was one of the first things we found. The company name Linksys is on the product and their site suggests that they work in something related to wifi. Does anybody know what it is?

There is nothing that closely resembles this on their website. It's probably outdated because the computer was build before Rome Total War came out.

Was it inside of the case or attached on the outside? Looks like a regular wifi antenna to me.

It's the aerial off the back of a router.

Back in the day, the aerials were removable and upgradable.
