on a completely random basis my computer will skip for exactly a half second exactly every three seconds for 5-15 minutes.

during this time it will also become extremely slow at loading webpages, games etc.

turning it off during this time and turning it back on will cause it to freeze at the startup screen and I will need to restart it until it says it's reverting updates.

this is rather uncommon and not really that annoying but I am curious as to why it's happening, would anyone happen to know why?

it sounds like some program is using all your system resources periodically. have you looked at the task manager when this happens to see if that's so?

have you run antivirus/malware checks recently?
