Can an aftermarket cooler kill a motherboard? I got an aftermarket

Can an aftermarket cooler kill a motherboard? I got an aftermarket cooler 3 days ago and when i tried turning it on, it wouldnt post. just figured out that my mobo was broken. was this purely coincidental? pls help.

Unless you buy a prebuilt, all coolers are aftermarket coolers.

In any case, installing it like a tard certainly can kill your processor or motherboard.

Back in the days of FCPGAs, you could crack the corners off the processor die if you did it wrong.

In the every case, though, it's not the cooler that breaks the motherboard, it's the installer.

A cooler is just a chunk of copper. It has no agency of its own.
