It's a rifle. Caliber, make and model are unclear though. Possibly 44 mag, looks pretty close in size to mine.

looks like a Henry repeater or a Winchester repeater, but the resolution and image size is too small to get a good enough look at it.
I can most certainly tell you that the model is post American Civil War and Pre-WW1.
