Sure. Just used the heal selection filter (which depends on the resynthesize filter) for the gimp.

Be aware that removing watermarks is a DMCA infringement that can get you like 5 years in jail and USD$150,000 in damages though, so if you're planning on using it for something public, I advise against it.
