Well I mean, in hindsight, pretty much every "good" anime has a plot twist. So..not that much of a loss..
I always go into anime expecting them to throw some mediocre TIME TRAVEL TWIST near the end to make all of the stale plot seem interesting.
80% of the time that's exactly what happens. It's hard to enjoy anime after you've seen so much of it :((
