Hey guys, kind of a dummy question but my girlfriend has been having issues with her microphone on her laptop. I'm not 100% sure of the model, but I know it's a Lenovo IdeaPad that is running Windows 8.

The problem with her mic is that it is far too quiet, and we've tried messing with skype settings as well as audio settings in the control panel to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

Try to boost it.
>right click speaker icon in taskbar
>choose Recording Devices
>right click microphone that you want to used
>set as default device
>double click it and go to tab "Levels" and change the Microphone Boost part
