Hey /wsr/. I'm volunteering as a web designer for an astronomy non-profit.
I have a hard time deciding what kind of look I should give to the site. Do you have any suggestions?

Go with this. It's easy enough for people to use.

make sure to not copy the design and the code of a site, but you may take inspirations.
Think also about the Windows 10 or tablet user, make sure to make the buttons big enough.
