Can someone recommend me a worthwhile RPG I can play on PC, preferably no older than 10 years old and with good characters?
I heard xenoblade chronicle is good though I haven't got around to playing it yet.

I've heard good things about Xenoblade and emulating it doesn't seem too difficult or demanding. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

unepic is a great game. Now if you're looking at one good and famous RPG, good luck. There's not a lot of good games nowadays. Even torchlight 2 which was fun to play once isn't that good. Sure I enjoyed it but it was too easy.
Nowadays the few games I keep hearing about are path of exile and grim dawn (-40% on steam right now). dunno how worth it they are. PoE is free you can still give it a try without spending money

That's what I've been seeing a lot of people say. Nothing seems good across the board. One game will have good gameplay but shit lore and characters, and another will have a good setting and lore but boring gameplay. I hope Dragon's Dogma is good.

And that's why I recommended you unepic. The graphics aren't bad, it tries to be a real good RPG as dungeon & dragon or pathfinder. How the story start is somehow ridiculous and funny and all the dialogues too. It's a very good game. Now if you're looking something like the old and good RPG, I think you should forget about it. Maybe try some old games that you never played.
I wasn't able to find something as good as Diablo or Fable. Diablo 3 is a fucking beat them all without any interest and without role playing anymore, Fable 3 is just trash. That's why I lost hope in video games.
Devs are stupid monkeys thinking making their game accessible is a good idea, ruining all the gameplay. The always want to simplify things for the player so they can sell it to normies.
Just go for old games or have a look at indie games on steam. You'll not have great graphics, but you'll have something good.
