A red board can do porn and non-porn content. A blue board can't do porn content. Since 80% of what was asked in /r/ involved porn, that's the one that has a better reason to exist.
As for /r/ being shit, it fulfills its function. People ask for sourcing or photoshop, and about half the time they get it. This board has yet to do anything, so there's no point in saying it's better.
Either people end up doing both boards or they choose one and the resources get split (most likely unevenly). Of all of Hiro's new boards, this is the one most likely to fail.
