Broken locking mechanism on mobo

Is there another way to safely mount a cpu? The locking mechanism broke on this gigabyte motherboard.

Hahahahahaha no.

In principle, so long as the processor is correctly in the socket, the heatsink should hold it in place. Maybe try blutack or hot glue to stop the processor moving whilst you screw it down.

But don't do this with a processor you care about, because connecting the pins incorrectly would be a great way to turn it into a keyfob.

I once had bent pins on my socket. I used a magnifying glass with a LED light and a needle to fix them. I've been using my MOBO fine for 2-3 years now. :")
