Google "how does a ddos attack work"

Educate yourself.

Also ddos has no practical use in the everyday, unless you were a very eccentric software tester with some very eccentric requirements.

Though this is much nicer than a raid-call or a personal-army request, consider your incentive to ddos attack a particular server, and consider the fine if you get caught.
