So I desperately need to clean my hard drives off and I also tend to watch things on the Blu ray player so I picked up an external burner.
Now here's the problem.
I keep getting shit problems where the computer can dread the disk fine but the player (the t.v. one not the burner) either can't read the disks or play some of the files.
I've used Imgburn and Burnaware and verified the disks after burning but this still happens.
I'm using VNO brand disks and I suspect this is the problem - shitty quality disks...
but the last 3 stores I went to only had these so I haven't been able to try anything different.
Anyone have a similar experience?
suggestions?

I have a lot of stuff but I don't want ot go to cheap so that I just end up reburning.

Uh... video on optical disk is a type of enconding, you must burn the video files/movies for the machine to read them as movies and not a disks with files on them.
its complicated to explain but i think the issue maybe stemming from the software you're using to burn and the configuration you're using.

I'm burning them as data which is what I did with dvds.
and also some of the stuff plays fine but one or two files of a series fucking up is a pain in the ass.

Then you're right and the brand of your disks maybe the issue
The brand of your player may also be the issue, my old sony DVD player could not play burned/pirated movies and supposedly that was a feature not a defect.

OP here..
totally understand that.
My parents actually invested in the company that puts V-chips in t.v.
