The slave cord goes around your neck, and the master one plugs into your fan.
Make sure to use a chair to reach it, you can kick it out from underneath you when you're done.

If you got your drive after 1999, it'll come jumpered to CS, which means "Cable-Select".

If you plug it into the socket marked "Master", it'll be the master, and if you plug it into the socket marked "Slave", it'll be the slave. Use whichever socket it on the far end of the cable first.
