It's all about finding/multiplying the correct factors.
For instance part C:
If you factor the denominator of the third term you'll transform x^2+x-2 into (x-1)(x+2). Then you can multiple the beginning 2 terms by either (x-1) or (x+2) depending on whether or not it's missing from the bottom.
2/(x-1) becomes [2(x+2)]/[(x+2)(x-1)]
