Requesting recommendations for RPGs similar to the Mario RPGs, Earthbound and Undertale. They all have nice settings, style, comedy and have interesting gameplay (mostly Mario & Undertale when it comes to gameplay). I can only think of that 1 South Park game when thinking of similar games.

Sout Park Stick of Truth is a dirty Mario RPG. It plays exatly like Ten Thousand Year Door, but without the environmental gimmicks.

The Dragon Quest saga contains all the elements you're looking for. I personally recommend the eight installment.
Lufia II is a quite typical JRPG, and while the overworld has random encounters, you can see the enemies inside dungeons and avoid them. Puzzles are abundant.
If you like action RPGs, try Terranigma. The story is very rich and intrincated and the game as a whole is beatifully crafted. It has bits of comedy here and there but it's not the game's main focus.
