It's been like this all day, only does this when trying to boot normally. I am currently booted into safe mode. Can anyone help?

Had a similar problem on my old laptop. Turns out the hard drive was fried. I would check that. I can't remember how to do the hardware check, but I'm sure a simple google search can fix that.

The update files may be corrupted. Try deleting them while in safe mode. The path is C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download.

It might be what >>122933 said,
But >>122849 might not be wrong either, your HDD can slowly fail, and physical portions of it might be broken, so when windows tries to "Write" the update during installation, It notices it can't write properly and discontinue the update.
