I didn't really know where to ask this, but I've been trying to find a version of Time of Eve that's good quality, but the only thing I could find was a 10gb THORA release of it, and it seems my laptop is unable to play the video without massively slowing. I'm trying to downscale the video to 720p and I have two questions.

1. Will the outputed file be of okay quality or is downscaling it going to ruin something?

2. Is is super slow reencoding the video because of how shit my computer is?

Sorry this is the first time I've ever tried something like this.

Use ffmpeg. It'll be much faster, and you'll have much more control.

Encoding indeed depends hugely on your CPU. Not sure how much faster ffmpeg would be. Quality in handbrake is controlled in the video tab.

The thing you are looking for is this movie?

Yeah that's the movie. I didn't get that version because of the negative comments.

You could try to get into animbytes which is a private tracker specializing in anime.
It is very beginner friendly.

Here is a 720.
Don't know if it works or how big it is though.

I may try that, but without a vpn I'm paranoid about mass torrenting and seeding. I've been able to find most of what I want with xdcc. This is the only thing I haven't been able to find in 720p.

Here is a lower quality version

Thanks guys. I'm not that far from the downscale being finished, so I'm going to see how that turns out just because of curiosity, but I am glad you showed me alternatives.

Kind of weird question, but would it be disrespectful to thora if I uploaded the 720p result somewhere when it's done?

Didn't AnimeBytes close registration?

Probably best to ask them about it beforehand. At the very least ad some sort of disclaimer explaining you are not affiliated with the group.
