HP kind of fucked me hard and has refused to provide hardware support for my 4 year old laptop. I need to find a new motherboard for an HP Envy 17 and also find a technician willing to install it. Both of these are fucking near impossible without HPs help but i figured this board would know. Any help would be appreicated
Buy a new laptop instead.

as much as I would love to its a 2g laptop and I would prefer spending the 300+ just fixing it

Jesus christ, just type "<your exact laptop model> motherboard" into eBay, and "<your exact laptop model> service manual" into google, and do it yourself.
Or take the two to any computer shop.
There is nothing difficult about laptops; you don't even need more than one screwdriver.

I dearly hope you don't think it's worth $2,000, because it's not.
If it's four years old, it might possibly be worth the $300 you expect to spend fixing it, but that's a push.
HP make consumer trash, and consumer trash is expected to last 2-3 years. Your laptop is past its expected lifespan (as is evidenced by the fact that it's broken), and will also be comprehensively obsolete.
The only reason to spend that much on it would be sentimentality.
what happened to it? It just stopped? I don't want my laptop breaking too. It's HP as well.
