first time posting here about a problem my pc has.
i bought the pc about almost 3 years ago and i want to buy a new GPU because the one I currently have was a huge disappointment. first of all, games like witcher 3 have pretty low fps something like 20fps but also not so heavy games like hearthstone dont reach 60fps which is pretty weird. I updated the drivers to the most recent drivers.
the second and worse problem is that I cant do automatic updates on the PC (which I formatted and installed a new windows 7 not long ago) after I do the first updates, the PC gets bsod when i boot the windows. I heard its because of a bad compatibility with ATI gpus but im not sure. anyway I want to buy an nvidia GPU cause this one was pretty shitty. Do you have any idea what should i do or buy?

Kanon is set in winter and it's pretty cozy. Mushishi is set during all different seasons, but it's great to watch during the rainy or cold season late at night.
Not necessarily comfy, but definitely winter.

Recently my computer started acting up, suddenly the screen would go black (but not off). After a restart it would be okay for maybe 1-10minutes before going black again. I suspected faulty gpu (hd6970), but aince te fault seemed to be triggered just when I tried writing something in facebook chat a couple of times in a row, I suspected maybe some other problem not related to hardware. I rolled back from win 10 to win 7, but same thing happened after 15-20 minutes or so.
Is my gpu fucked? Any idea what else it might be, hints for troubleshooting etc?

Faulty RAM maybe? Try running memtest.
I had this problem a while back, resetting CPU settings from BIOS fixed it.

I suspected RAM early, and tried using only one and one chip, still same result. Unlikely 4 faulty chips right?
I've never done anything with CPU in BIOS, but I'll try anyway.
Tried now with music playing to find out if it stopped, or if it was just the screen going black, but this time it actually went white, and music stopped. I also reverted from Win10 to 7 to see if it made any difference, but it did not.
Again, this time it failed it was running fine for 10-15 minutes until I went to facebook in firefox, stayed there for maybe 1min till it happened.
Maybe I can find an old GPU to see if it makes a difference.

Well i use bakabt for most of my stuff just gotta google search whatever you want and add bakabt or you could also use nyaa torrents either way. I don't even bother downloading manga much anymore i just read it online because i really don't care about lower quality but for those moments i just want to tenderly take my eyes out for a nice meal i download from those places.
