I'm looking for the anime adaptation of "the new gate" which I'm sure I've watched 3 episodes of at around 1 year ago. Whenever I try to search something related it comes up with log horizon, sword art online or accel world.
All I need is the japanese original title, since apparently "the new gate" is only the name of the light novel.
Any help will be appreciated.

Are you sure the anime you're thinking of is the new gate? The wiki page says it's an LN that got a manga adaptation but doesn't mention an anime.

there is something seriously wrong with my computer...
Windows Update has been asking me to do the same 2 updates for maybe about a month now, I thought that maybe it's the updates themselves that are glitched or something and I hid them.
but now, AMD Radeon Settings is starting to tell me to make the same update again. The current version being 15.30 etc. to 16.15 etc. When I make the update, everything is successful and it tells me to reboot, after I do, it tells me my version is 15.30 again and that I must update to 16.15
It's like my computer...

The latest AMD Radeon driver is 15.30, not 16.15. I believe you are either checking in the wrong place, or have installed a virus.

in other words, I guess my computer is ok, it was just a weird coincidence that both windows update and AMD asked me to install the same updates over and over again
hiding the 2 windows updates works, It's not that much of a big deal, but it's weird and I'm kinda concerned

Can anyone recommend some media about exploration or discovery of a foreign or even alien culture? I really liked the beginning of Morrowind how you get off the ship and see this strange world, and the clash of Dunmer culture with Imperial culture. Other stuff would be like Stranger in a Strange Land, The Road to El Dorado or Star Trek. There's a lot of games that have exploration, but I want something like exploration of a foreign land with a strange culture.

there are a lot of books, beginning from Marco Polo's "Il milione" to the traveling reports of the explorers in the 17th-19th century (or the romainzations or film adaptations of these reports), for example Christopher Columbus, Alexander von Humboldt, David Livingstone, etc.
If you want science fiction, "The left hand of darkness" by Ursula K. Le Guin and "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert A. Heinlein (which reverse the trope), but there are a lot more.

I'm looking for a manga with the premise similar to Tower of God. Mainly, I suppose the biggest thing that intrigues me is "character has to ascend/descend/travel through X area/place/creation to arrive at Y endpoint (top of tower/end of area/etc) to find a mcguffin". I haven't read ToG but I am intrigued by the premise itself. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any manga I have previously read that would relate to the criterion listed. Maybe something like GetBackers or Psyren would be vaguely related?

There aren't many that aren't MMO tier. That's why it was so popular to begin with.
Danjon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka is the closest you'll get. MC travels to different dungeon levels to gain more money, power, and fame. The lower you go the harder it is, but the bigger pay off. Even then it's RPG-Like, but it isn't straight up MMO.

I remember watching an anime in 2011 or 2012. I remember that there was a female character with long pink hair, who was an alien and the MC fell in love with her over the course of the summer.
