Apocalypse: Verdun
I'm well aware of how monumentally stupid this is going to sound, but for a moment the very idea of non English WW1/WW2 documentaries actually blew my mind. It never even crossed my mind as something that would exist and I have no idea why because of course they would.
these are all really nice. thanks for posting these.

This specific episode about Verdun? No. Or at least, not yet.
But in the serie of Apocalyse documentaries, there are some with english commentary. Here's some links if you want to download it (it's pretty heavy):

You can probably buy the DVD/BR somewhere.

Yeah just found "Apocalypse World War 1", it's in 5 episodes, each called something like "FURY" and "RAGE".
The narration is in English and it's pretty terrific, well, as terrific as watching mans inhumanity towards man can be.

The Apocalypse's serie is very well written.
BTW, for those who want smaller file to download, but with french commentary (subtitles must exist somewhere), take a pick:

Holy crap was it literally glassed with shells like that? The second picture doesn't look like it's even on earth any more. It looks like a miniature shape someone carved into a rock.

Fort Douaumont was bombed for 6 days, 1000 tons of shells per day. The capture of the fort during the Battle of Verdun between February and March 1916 cost 100,000 men.

*between February and October

I visited a fort like this one not far away from my home, and apparently each large shell that touched the fort made it move like a ship on a rough sea.
Moste of the time, the guy inside surrender because of the toxic gas that enter it.
And last thing, a fort like this on is in fact ONE large concrete bloc. It's kinda unreal when you're inside it.
