Maybe some other suckers like you who can't see past their feelings. That guy is the one that makes the robots walk without slipping, tripping and falling all the time. If the machines ever develope feelings he will be celebrated as a hero or ridiculed as a fool for giving the machines the ability to walk up and conquer the world.
Most likely the machines gives him no sentimental value in any way, though

Many of these are for experimenting, seeing how far they can get with various form factors and for different purposes. Also, instead of changing our building codes and everyday organization to suit spider robots so they can perform mundane tasks, it would be better to have robots that can move like people.
