We all have been there anon. We didn't see Dallas so the whole Who shot mr. Burns plot was really tense and intriguing, Halloween specials sometimes were pretty scary(the gruesome cafeteria one comes to mind), and the Bart's comet episode really hammered down that apocalyptic feeling. Knowing the answer to all the plothooks makes the episodes lose a lot of their impact. To be innocent ans simpsonless again.

Rashomon is a movie about several people recounting the same event (the murder of a man's wife). The joke is really clever because each character's views differ greatly in the film, much like how Marge thought Homer liked Rashoman when he remembers the same event differently.
