Agreed, half the fight scenes in this thread are just two characters bashing their swords off each other constantly. This form of theatrical fighting sprung up because of stuff like plays and TV shows/movies where they wanted to choreograph a fight scene while minimising the chances of one of the actors getting injured, and as a result it is just tremendously unexciting to watch because it never feels like anyone is actually in danger.

The huge fucking monstrosity of a weapon doesn't even have perpendicular handle so that she can actually swing it without the blade turning around mid swing, and the blade is NEVER actually facing him.

This is the definitive dub v. sub video for CG. It's like JYB is a totally different character. Fukuyuma's Lelouch had a huge tragedy boner and every time something bad happened to him, you could almost feel him laughing-- here he jokes about killing Rolo right to his face. He's angry and sad. JYB Lelouch is just sort of crying like a little bitch. Lelouch is the type of guy who even upon losing his composure still thinks he's better than you.

Well, I can't take seriously most fights in anime anyway (I can still appreciate most) but it's always retarded choreography and really stupid pilot mistakes in case of mecha.
Like that show where some lone asshole in the desert flank a a whole platoon by him-fucking-self with a smoke screen. Well, that particular scene is fairly justified. The gouf pilot was likely using an open comm to mess with the federation pilots, and they used open comms back, to a degree, but only that group. That, and the pilot of the one that ripped its arm off is the lover of the woman to whom the gouf pilot dedicates himself to completely in a 'loyal warrior/servant' kinda way. He wanted his mistress to find happiness, so he didn't want to kill the fed pilot
