Just some SPOILERS *wink*

Is that the new doctor?
>>768270
yep, actually this is his second season, webm from the latest episode
>>768263
>sonic sunglasses
Well if I didn't give up this show before I would have now.
the smell of script writers killing good TV shows and the actors not giving 2 shits
>>768263
Doctor Who is the biggest piece of shit that has taken years to be shat.
>>768263
fuck off with your tumblr-who shit
we already have enough cancer on this board
I got like halfway through his first episode last year or whatever and was pretty "nope." Pretty quickly.
I feel like Moffat doesn't know what the fuck he's doing now that Matt Smith is gone. Episodes almost have to be tailored to the type of Doctor who'll be appearing in them and Capaldi's such a different beat Moffat just seems fucking baffled as to what to do with him. He can't settle on a tone even within one episode and pulls stuff out of his arse more often than Doctor Who should, Capaldi's run has been fueled by asspulls and boring characters like fucking Danny Pink.
And it's a real shame because Capaldi's a fantastic actor and a really good Doctor, he's just in shit episodes.
Jesus Christ, what the fuck is this and why can't I have my pre mat smith stuff back.
I really want to like DR Who because it has alot of potential but the writers are just fucking horrible.
>>768263
There's only so many times you can threaten the entirety of time and space and all life within it before it gets a little stale. Not to mention how everything else seems weak in comparison.
>>782069
That's sort of why the modern Doctor Who is so weak; the writing is so shit.
I grew up with a different era of the Doctor, where problems were on a different scale. The writing was also different, and the show was more about a rather light hearted adventure through time and space than anything else. Even when the Doctor was essentially trapped on Earth.
Now it's just... the same shit over and over again with a different coat. Even when the Doctor changes, it's still the same. And the companions are just... so meh. They don't challenge him like the older ones did. And no, disagreeing is not the same as challenging. They're just there to occasionally be rescued or to be a sort of comedic/emotional foil to the Doctor. It's just all so bad compared to the older series.
>>782091
What would you say is the point where the quality started to go to shit?
>>782670
David Tennant.
I didn't mind Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor though.
I know a handful of people started hating on Sylvester McCoy or Paul McGann, but I never really had a problem with them.
And I'm not saying Tennant was bad as the Doctor at first, but something happened in the writing and it got way too drama-y for my liking.
Also Rose.
Motherfucking Rose. Good god how I hated her.
>>782713
Rose was fine before BAD WOLF BAD WOLF I MUST INSERT MYSELF IN EVERYTHING EVER
>>782713
her mouth was just too big
Your all fucking hipsters, doctor who's writing was always schlop, its always been about the doctors character and how the current actor portrays them, fuck all of you.
I liked Matt Smith. I disliked how they got rid of him in the Christmas special.
>>769260
Maybe we're just getting old
>>781297
Perfect
>>782069
The doctor can't change fixed points in time, except for when he did
The Doctor can't create causality loops, except for when he does
Every life is a sacred miracle of the universe and nobody should ever die except some people are worthless and everybody needs to die except the Doctor of course he's too young and hasn't seen enough of the world to die yet
>>768263never seen this show. So why is it so over hyped?
>>800596
To make it clear how bad Doctor Who has gotten- this is actual dialogue from an episode.
Like- it really came on TV.
A room full of writers agreed that this should be a line.
And then the actor said it- probably multiple times.
And then it was put on TV.
>>769348
>good TV shows
Doctor Who always was dumb as shit.
Moffatt tried to fuck over most of the good things Matt Smith tried to bring to the role, and Capaldi could be a great Doctor but the terrible, terrible writing is ruining run as it did Smith's. When we have 2 good doctors after Tennants "Im so sorry, im so so sorry. Im sorry. Im sorry"/ 4ar2edgy bollocks it's a real shame to see this frankly amateurish output ( see 'the woman who lived' capaldi episode that looks like it was directed as a school project ). Sonic Sunglasses are frankly retarded except as a 1 off joke showing how much of a twat the Doctor can be at times- as is that fucking guitaur.
Jesus Christ I wish Douglas Adams was still alive.

>>769260
Everybody knows that it's stupid, just so you know, even the writers. I guess they wanted to make the show cheesier than it is right now. ...
>>768263
>More anti white propaganda
Yey!
true Dr.Who is 50fps (PAL)
>>804781
No they have to cowtow to the Executive Director, Peter Moffatt, who has made Clara, GIANT Mary Sue, even more than the Doctor.
He has no idea what he's doing and it first comes off as shitty fanfic. So much that his work is built on insulting the work of previous directors.
>>786814
Yup.
>>804723
Fucking this. Capaldi is a great actor yet they have him running around like an chicken with his head cut off until the very last minute of the episode where he some how pulls some plan out of his ass. I was hyped for an older actor to play the Doctor because I expected a wise older man who uses his knowledge and experience to come up with strategic plans not this fucking shit.
>>800596
He does, actually. The 8th doctor comes back at one point.
>>800142
River's kid.
>>823459
this portion of the episode made me think it would be interesting to try and trap the doctor in a parallel universe where he's nothing more than an insane ranting old hobo under a bridge, with memories of a time lord completely invalidated until he loses hope.
>>768263
why dont they just shoot him
I will never EVER get the appeal of this show.
>>838155
Bad writing. Come on, this show sucks. It's just rom com posing as scifi to attract grrl "nerds".
This thread needs more Tom Baker.
>>803987
wait hang on, I though Jack was the face of Boe
>>838369
Personally what caught my attention was that they literally have the whole 'space and time' to come up with interesting enemies and are just limited on the writers' imagination
Like on 'Flatline' the enemies came from a '2d' universe and were flat and could make a person flat on contact or something. Weird stuff like that.
Or the 'Midnight' episode, where we never know the true nature of the enemy in that episode so it ended up surrounded on mystery.
The only problem is that they keep recycling the same old enemies and tropes.
>>840729
RIP in Peace
>>840488
funny thing is, both flatline and midnight were badly received by fans.
doctor who has a really retarded fanbase that criticizes everything but at the same time is aggressive towards new things.
>>768273
>latest episode.
Clara is dead yo.
>>800605
has gotten?
it's always been shit you bitch
>>852280
Nah, there was a time where the show was actually pretty good. Back during that "golden era" of sci-fi shows and such.
But then they modernized it... It wasn't terrible at first. I actually liked Eccleston as the Doctor. But Tennant was the downfall, and it just continues to get worse and worse...
I understand that maybe you personally didn't like the show, and honestly that's fine. But the series wasn't always shit.
>>832345
Ugh, don't even joke, they'd do it in a heartbeat.
>>854218
>Golden era
You were just younger and newer to the show
>>854462
Going back and watching the shows I missed, I'd argue that that could be considered a sort of "golden age" of sci fi shows. There was so many of them, most with interesting premises and scenarios.
You are aware that, in this age, you can watch older shows without any problem at all, right?
It's not like I spend my time watching only new shows and only old shows I used to watch, you know.
Doctor Who back then was more fun and interesting, and even more intense. An entire episode could have the Doctor encountering some new foe, and setting up an interesting, or at least unique, way of dealing with it.
Instead of now... where it's usually something we've seen before, the Doctor bumbles around like a functioning retard for most of the episode, the companion bitches and complains but contributes nothing, and then at the very last second the Doctor pulls something literally out of his ass. It's not engaging, it's not creative, it's not intense. It's just boring.
>>855149
It was more that serials actually gave the stories room to breath. Now that they only get less then an hour... stories have to be tight. You can't have many sub plots, and the cast has to stay fairly undeveloped. Conflicts have to obvious and simple.
This is not to say all the old stuff was not filled with more filler then a Christmas turkey, but still I would argue that there was also just more to the older seasons.
>>768263
This show looks like the biggest piece of shit. How is this a thing?
>>840099
he is, dont know what the fuck this shit is
>>852140
>Clara is dead yo.
was
To People that don't watch the show:
Fuck off and get a life!
To people that watch the show:
This Doctor is really good, you're just in some nerdphase where you're pining for some other shit and aren't trying very hard to do much but shit on it.
Usual dr Who moaners thread then

Would have been funnier with KKKKKKKKKKHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!
Also, her unfettered tits are disappointing when compared to what her chest looks like in this shot.
>>856176
The things you like are awful.
>>856149
Oh don't remind me, i'm trying to forget that this season happened and especially that fucking stupid as hell finale
I can just pray for her to never come back, and take Ashildr, too. Fucking hated that character and the girl is fugly as fuck.
>>845104
>Time travelling space alien paying attention to human religion.
You could write a thesis on the shit writing in this show.
>>857284
He has said that it's possible for all myths to derive from reality
He basically met 'Satan' in The Satan pit and went to the 'afterlife/heaven' in Death in Heaven or around that episode
>>840099
Well they do seem to suggest that but past parts of the show don't seem to matter much. It's a big patchwork of plot holes and disregarding of past events.
>>840488
Yes, the writers seem to lack imagination. Every 2 or 3 episodes it's Daleks again. The Dr. definitively destroys them but two episodes later they're back again. But each time they have to add some new "twist" or magical happenstance that makes them alive again.
>>852140
Yeah, well that's not how things work on Dr. who. Nothing is permanent. Just like the Prime Directive in Star Trek, the oft-claimed "fixed point in time" is followed only when the writers find it convenient for the plot.
I really hated the sunglasses at the beginning, I enjoyed when that viking broke them and wished they never back again, now I miss them. I guess this apply to every Doctor, Companion, Tardis, screwdriver...
I really like Capaldi as the Doctor. He's got this good mix of grumpy old fart and smart-ass. As for everyone bitching about bad writing, Doctor Who was never meant to be hard Sci-Fi. It's fairy tales for Sci-Fi nerds, that's all. If you want another BSG or that's fine, but I think you're missing the point of the Doctor.
It will be nice to see Clara finally fucked off, though. She should have retired with Smith, or maybe halfway through Capaldi's first season.
>>856672
I hope they accidentally end up flying that shitty diner-TARDIS into a black hole while arguing. That'd make for good entertainment.
>>768263
wow, this show does NOT look like a good time at all.
>>864367
Nah, Capaldi is the worst doctor yet.
He doesn't have the active streak that Tennant and Smith had but doesn't have that lovable feeling and quirks of the older doctors.
Things like the guitar and sunglasses are a bit too, outlandish, too.
>>869680
Actually, I take that back.
I forgot that master mole happened.
>>768263
>Daleks
>Again
This is why I can't watch Dr Who anymore, it's the same fucking shit EVERY TIME FUCK. THEY AREN'T AN IMPOSING OR SCARY ENEMY WHEN YOU USE THEM EVERY FUCKING SEASON, AND THEY ARE SOMEHOW THE "LAST" OF THEIR RACE THAT SOMEHOW MANAGED TO AVOID BEING WIPED OUT AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN FUUUUUUUUCK
>>869680
>Tennant and Smith are better
oh boy I forgot how those pretty and young fuckboys brought in the tumblr crowd that want to day dream about getting their prostate stimulated by Tennant and Smith.
>>840099
He is, this was probably made before the last current episode w/ her.
>>811607
