but oh god, no! i made that webm about a year ago from a video i downloaded in 2010. maybe that version just has nostalgic value to me, but what you posted is *not* superior in any way (well maybe video production). the older version is much more to the point (no boring 5 min intro), is pure guitar and doesn't have that horrible modulation effect and is mixed better with his foot tapping. the progression and build are much nicer, the energy flows better and the main theme is more recognizable through-out. and the new ending physically made me cringe - the whole cartharic peak and resounding finish is missing. (and the dude doesn't look like a giant faggot without any charisma.)
look, if you have nostalgic feelings about that version - be my guest. but don't go shitting on other peoples' parade when you have nothing objectively better to offer. i guess the point is he adapts the song to different points in his life. so maybe you're feeling 2012 Butler more - i certainly do not.
