i have a few but they might take a bit to write out
pic related is something i tried to do for about ten minutes but couldnt get the gradient right so i smart filled/spot healed/blurred and then posted it anyway. immediately after, i found another version that was far better. the worst thing is, if you reverse image search it, it will pull up the better version.
thats why i hate it.
i love the sky. i have always wanted to learn to paint just so i could paint the sky.

the amound of snow reminds me of when i was a kid, middle school probably, and it was christmas break. i went outside at about 2:00 AM and it was snowing gently, with this amount of snow already on the ground. the lights on the street were the same yellow and it made the street i knew so well seem like a new, magical place.
the snow muffles sound and the lack of people made me feel alone, but i wasnt lonely. i was in a special place and nobody could ruin it. it was serene, isolated.
its the reason winter is my favorite season. and night is my favorite time of day.
i went to see the wind rises in theaters with my gf. she didnt like it because she thought it was plain and boring.
but for me it was the first miyazaki film i payed attention too. and i related to the main character bucause i too couldnt be what i wanted most.
the dream sequences seemed like the ramblengs of an old man, confusing but somehow they make sense. i havent seen many other miyazaki films but i hope to eventually see them all.

This is the wallpaper I had on my laptop as I introduced my gf to ricing. I still remember lying on a hotel bed with her and saying "wow that's an interesting wallpaper" (I don't know if it was an actual compliment).
I ended up ricing her LG G4, but she switched back to an iPhone.

this one is a reference to the book 'the invention of hugo cabaret' i made it for a subtle references thread a few months ago.
when i read the book (great read btw though now intellectually challenging) i read it with my gf at the time and it was the first novel she had read beginning to end (red flag, i know now) and we chose it because it had a lot of illustrations.
the illustrations were actually quite amazing and it made the book seem a lot shorter that it originally appeared.
a few years i saw the film and the opening scene is perfectly done and matches the book almost exactly.
that was the point in my life that i truly understood the significance of cinematography.

Alright, seems interesting. Why not.
About a year and a half back or so, I started getting into desktop customization and ricing and shit. So, I started browsing /wg/ in my downtime looking for some good wallpapers to help fill that creative itch I was having.
Well one day, I stumbled my way into a retro thread. In that thread, was a phone version of the wallpaper i've posted, with a guy in a fedora leaning up against the car. I liked the image, but there wasn't a 16:9 version in existence, so i moved on, albeit slightly disappointed. Then, someone posted a version of the image that had the guy in the fedora removed. For some reason, that inspired me to load the image up into gimp, which i had downloaded for some reason ages ago, and play around with making myself a nice 1920x1080 version. And 'lo and behold, I did.
I mirrored the image against itself, and then copy/pasted various parts to help mask how symmetrical the picture was. Took like two hours, as I was learning everything as I went. And i'm pretty happy with the result. There's a few things i'd change now, but it's a bit too late for that.
So that afternoon of experimentation cemented my interest in image modification, and is the reason i continued doing things like that in my free time. Now, I do requests over at the /imt/ as well as getting payed for the odd request on the side. And the first paper I made is popular enough that it gets posted around quite a bit. It's a good feeling seeing something you put together pop up time and time again.

Anyway I came into this thread expecting something else, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
Back to the subject of the thread. I got the wallpaper from here even though it's technically not really a wallpaper. I saw it and I knew that I wanted to learn more so I saved it. I remember saving it knowing that I really like reading and learning more. I knew at that moment of space and time that I don't want to kill myself. I want to live and learn everything I can.
