Hello /wg/,
Long time lurker here. Just wanted to say that I love y'all. Throughout everything, you have been a much needed constant. So with that, I would like to celebrate my birthday with y'all. Post your favorite wallpapers and if you feel like it, tell us why you like that one in particular
I'll start
Dark colours in wooded backgrounds are my favorite, they just feel nice and cozy
>>6605733
The nice scenery reminds me of camping with family and friends years back
>>6605737
Reminds me of hunting trips with my dad. Carrying around a mosin nagant that was way to big for my child arms in northern Washington. Never got one though
>>6605739
Sitting on a park bench after my first date with the first girl I didn't just want to bang right off the bat (although I definitely would have). We went to the town fair and I won her a teddy bear
>>6605742
Getting lost in some mountains in Idaho during a summer camp. Made it back after we ran into some nice rednecks brewing moonshine pointed us back in the right direction
>>6605748
Driving around Pittsburgh with my cousins and their friends after swimming all day in a creek and generally having fun
>>6605751
Forgot to add, we had a retarded game that we called "Danger Close". The game consisted of someone screaming incoming as they chucked rocks into the air. You had to duck underwater and if you got hit, you lost.
Anyway, this reminds me of the first time I seen the Aurora Borealis. Early morning hunting trips were nice because this type of stuff happened a lot
>>6605752
Spooky early morning piss runs deep in the woods. I heard and seen some stuff that would make /x/ jizz themselves at that place. Apparently grandpa had a run in and went through a few boxes of home brewed hot loaded 12 gauge shooting at only God knows what
>>6605756
Reminds me of the first time I rode a metro. I was in D.C. on a trip and hopped on the train right as it started snowing
>>6605758
When I woke up in the hospital after I got my appendix ripped out. Pretty trippy considering I still had a fuck ton of morphine in my system
>>6605760
Playing hide and seek with the MPs late at night on base. It was a lot of fun and the MPs knew it was us. Never got caught. Hiding in snow drifts is the way to go btw
>>6605762
One of the times I went to Chinatown with an Asian friend. Glorious little bastard he was. Always came back with a fuckton of food
My offering for your birthday. Enjoy your life. Take it easy.
>>6605765
Sitting around a campfire with friends in varying degrees of drunkenness listening to music and talking to one another. This really gay dude got dared to play with my friends nipples one time
>>6605767
Armed adventures through the woods with varying levels of sobriety. Met a hobo and shared our MREs with him. Nice guy
>>6605766
Thanks man, I appreciate it
Is anyone lurking?
>>6605769
Sat under some high power voltage lines smoking with this chick. Woke up in her bed to her sister telling me her dad was pulling up and I should leave. Jumped out of a second story window to escape.
Last one for tonight gentlemen, sleep is much needed
>>6605771
Sitting outside when I lived in Vegas watching the massive lightning storms roll in. When I moved there, I was scared of lightning. That changed shortly
>>6605771
I'm lurking OP
>>6605777
You've convinced me to do a few more
Nice trips btw
>>6605773
On one of our slightly drunken armed adventures through the woods, my friends and I found a neato abandoned house. Had plants growing a throughout it and there was a bunch of moth eaten clothing
>>6605784
Waiting in the tree stand with my uncle in the deep woods of Indiana while freezing rain falls on our heads waiting for this deer who's been playing in the treeline for 2+ hours to come out so I can get a shot. Fuck that deer
Seriously last for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow however
>>6605795
Getting the call from my dad that my great grandpa died. I was his name sake. When I heard that, my world just seemed darker
>>6605796
Good night OP
Happy birthday OP!
Thanks for sharing.
golden thread
>>6605944
>>6605947
Is this all OP or does everybody happen to have memories attached to their pape?
Enjoying this one because its easy on the eyes and gives me a sense of tranquility
>>6605733
Happy birthday friend. Have fun today.
>>6605733
I love this one too.
And most of the people who see it on my desktop ask for the file.
Must be something that special about it.
Can't figure out what.
>>6605970
They're mostly me, I appreciate you sharing
>>6605944
Thanks man, I appreciate that you like it
>>6605985
Thanks. Wish that faggot didn't go shoot up Orlando, now I can't get the rifle I was going to get because "HURR DURR GET ALL DAH GUNS"
>>6606056
They have good taste as well then
Rainy adventures through the streets with my friend to go on a double date type thing. We ended up watching I am legend at one of the girl's house. My date ended up crying at the scene with will Smith's dog getting infected
>Fuck you captcha I know what a mountain is
>>6606068
This reminds me of when one of my good friends came over a while back and introduced me to morrow wind. Not sure why though. I just remember running around like a retard killing everything while he watched Bob Ross VHS tapes
>>6606073
My one friend had a miniature version of a rock garden on his desk. I used to piss him off by carving very intricate dicks into the sand when he went to take his showers
>>6606073
So we don't sound autistic, my friend was a painter and made some pretty neato stuff often.
>>6606074
Sitting out on a dam watching the storm come up with my cousin was fun. Granted, holding the 7ft long fishing rods while lightning tore up the sky was probably not a good idea
>>6606185
Before my friends and I could load up on enough alcohol to make the Irish jealous and run innawoods with guns, we typically went innawoods and made some rather sizeable forts out of trees and branches. If memory serves, one of them had 3 guard towers before it went up in flames from a firework war
>>6605756
Buddy, you can't do that. You can't just leave us in suspense like that. Come on, story time.
I love this one because I think that the girl I love would love it too. Happy birthday anon, you seem to be doing things right, keep it that way.
>>6606551
Alright, let me finish studying this chapter and I'll tell some stories. I'm no good at green text though
>I'm out of wallpapers. I'm regretting resetting my phone now
>>6606626
I'll provide the papery, you provide the spooks (phone papes tho, I'm on my phone)
this doesn't really seam to fit the theme of this thread, but whatevs.
I like this pape, cause it reminds me of when i finished mass effect, and more than that, it reminds me of all the timer i've had to say goodbye to friends, be it graduation, quitting a long time job, or any similar scenario, it makes me at once nostalgic and hopeful.
>>6606653
I think it fits perfectly fine. The general idea I had was just share memories brought on by looking at certain backgrounds
>>6606633
>>6606551
Alrighty gents, gather round. Pappy has some spoops for all
>When I was younger we used to go up north a lot to visit my grandpa
>My grandpa was a very old fashioned man, seemed like he came straight out of a wild west movie
>He lived on a massive plot of land, always carried a .44 when he went outside
>Coincidentally his favorite movie was dirty Harry
>Anytime I went outside without him, which wasn't often, he handed my an old side by side 10 gauge
>Well one night, he acquired in a totally legal way a massive bottle of cinnamon moonshine knowing it's my favorite
>We promptly down a good chunk of the bottle while eating elk burgers and watching WWII movies
>Ended up making a fort and running around with said ten gauge
>Somewhere along the line we got helmets
>He passes out cuddling a 1903 Springfield
>Halfway through one of the films, I realize I need to piss a hurricane
>Waddle my drunken ass to the door with the 10 gauge hanging off my shoulder
>Open up and walk out towards the outhouse
>You ever get the feeling something is terribly wrong?
>That feeling over rode any other sense I had
>I grab the shotgun, shoulder it and turn to my right
>Seen some massive thing that looked like some high end Halloween costume
>H-hello?
>Deafening roar echoes all around
>Piss myself and start pulling the trigger as quick as possible
>Realize it's only a two shot in the drunken adrenaline haze
>Hall ass back to the house, i think I hit it because it roared again and started following me
>Grandpa kicks open the door with his helmet still on
>Trip and fall
Next soon
>>6606714
>Trip and fall
>Grandpa screams stand and deliver for whatever reason and starts firing like a madman
>Make my way back inside after the confusion wears off slightly
>He slams the door and starts reloading his rifle
>All the lights in the house are turned on by this point and in five minutes our little fort is looking like an ammo depot with all the ammo boxes around
>Don't sleep that night at all from adrenaline and random scream/roars heard in the distance
>Day light comes around and we step outside to look for anything that it could be
>All we find is coagulated blood that looks like week old pigs blood mixed with used car oil
>All the branches and small trees headed over the hill are snapped and broken to some degree
>We agree never to talk about it again
So that was my run in with some 7ft tall goat demon thing with glowing jackolatern eyes. He tells me that's it's not his first run in with whatever the fuck it is and that's why he's always walking around with that .44
Apparently it's raided his freezer that he kept in the barn outside and stole all the game he got that year. Thing was ripped to shreds, quite literally torn in half
Dam this is a good thread, thanks OP/ya'll
Not OP but this one brings back memories of Virginia when an ex and I would walk down a creek behind her house just enjoying each others company.
>>6606806
Currently in Salt Lake City and whenever I'm feeling down I'll just go on long drives through the mountain passes like this one
>>6606800
Glad you're enjoying it friend
Thank you all for a nice birthday. Still kinda pissed I couldn't get my gun today but oh well. Again, I love you all
>>6606807
My old friends and I would go on monthly camping trips in rural virginia. One of our favorite spots was at a place like this.
>>6606810
Ah definitely, there are some songs that almost feel like they're meant to be played on long drives.
>>6606813
Truth
Does anyone else like music boxes? I have a playlist of 50~ on my iPod that I listen to during night drives
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=minAIHiC9kA
>>6606811
I'm going to cheat with this one as it's just a picture I took on my phone. Nonetheless it's a pretty picture of a long drive into nowhere
>>6606816
Definitely, thanks for sharing. Kinda has a calm but ominous vibe at the same time
>>6606822
Another that I really like
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fM4mx0pzU0w
>>6606719
Damn, that was spoopy. Thanks op. I like this pape because it reminds of my trips to the mountains with my family back in the day.
Thank you for the wonderful birthday /wg/, even after it ended it was still nice hearing stories from everyone. May all of you ride towards Valhalla all shiny and chrome
This one reminds me of the first time I went to the UK (I'm from Ohio, USA) and my older brother and I got lost driving around in Northern England for a few hours one evening. I distinctly remember this really misty weather and huge old manors everywhere. There really isn't anything quite like it here in America.
Though, this particular wallpaper also reminds me of my grandparents house. Playing in the fields and swamps all day before coming home for a warm shower and homecooked food. Good times. Happy Birthday anon, hope it was a good one.
Wonderful thread, OP.
Don't have very many good memories, but there was this one time I went to a school camp when I was a lot younger chiefly because I was told my long time crush was going. She decided not to go at the last minute probably because she found out I was going. I was crushed, but I loved that camp. One of the best experiences of my life.
