>>
>>6589250
I'm using ncmpcpp, but you could easily do this in Foobar.
>>
>>6589250
not sure what the player is but with ncmpcpp, you just use it like a regular music player and add things to the queue as you go along. or play a set playlist or folder.
it becomes easy once you're used to it.

The laptop itself was $619.99, and the 250gb Samsung 850 EVO was $88. It was a max spec model, 1080p screen, and it's refurbished. It is also a quadro 2000m, not 1000m (guessing a typo). Also came with a new charger. Also it had good packaging. I also upgraded the ram from 8gb to 12gb using another ram stick I had laying around from my laptop that I replaced cause it broke.

That's what you're doing when you maximize a window with no fucking information. Single column fucking detailed view. what?

The solution is to not have a border at all.

Is that Windows? I read through most of Nanami but still can't figure out how users can rice Windows as much as Linux?
>>
>>6591069
I recognize bug.n on this screenshot, but it's ridiculously buggy, Windows wasn't made with a tiling WM in mind, there are invisible windows everywhere. You can use it for cool looking screenshots, but other than that it's mostly a headache.
>>
>>6591076
Nah, it's fine. I've been using it for a couple months and I can't imagine going back. I haven't encountered any bugs that seriously affect its functionality, it does what it says on the box.
>>
>>6591069
It is true that ricing on windows is not as straightforward as it is on Linux, but you can easily achieve a "decent" look, which is identical to that of Linux screenshots, by just installing blackbox and cygwin.

Same. I finally fixed my explorer and the best part is that it's actually more useful than before while still looking better.

If you have to sacrifice ease of use for aesthetics then you're doing it wrong.
Maybe I never got too deep into blackbox, but overall the experience was too clunky even though it looked like the opposite.

Compiz wherever should have the Blur Windows plugin, it'll blur anything with transparency. If you don't have the plugin, maybe there's a package with "extra" compiz plugins?
>>
>>6591608
That's not there last time i checked ~2 months ago
>>
>>6591607
>>6591611
Actually on second thought, if Ubuntu's switched to the 0.9 series then that might be it. I think that the blur plugin was broken from the transition to something, EGL maybe. Whatever it was they overhauled in 0.9, it broke blurring and most of their other plugins. I'm using Compiz Reloaded, which is a fork of the 0.8 release that still has all those plugins.
>>
>>6591617
I changed the composite refresh rate from 50 to 60, why was it set to 50 as default? I also enabled the image loading stuff (the only thing enabled was png).

>>6591627
IIRC it also has auto-detect refresh rate on by default so I think it should ignore that setting.

What's the Freely Transformable Windows plugin do? Sounds interesting, but it looks like 0.8 doesn't have it.
>>
>>6591633
The free transform plugin is horseshit. Messes all the windows up rendering it nearly unusable. Really not sure why that's there but not the awesome blur stuff. Blur works on kwin and compton and whatnot, but I just prefer the unity environment.
>>
>>6591633
Also, blur works here... lol
>>
>>6591633
I also have a blurred background so I guess that compensates (sort of) for non opaque windows (really just the terminal) when it's not over other windows.
>>
>>6591639
I don't know how much has changed with Unity but maybe you could dig up an old version still based on 0.8 and see if it'll still play nice.

>>6591645
Maybe that's just part of the Unity plugin (Unity is still just implemented as a compiz plugin right?) that they for some reason decided not to separate from the rest of Unity.
>>

1 MB, 1920x1080
>>6591659
Eh I don't care too much about it I guess, and yeah the Unity plugin is its own separate entity, and I don't really want to mess with changing compiz as I heard it doesn't play nice with newer versions. But I can't complain much because performance is much better on this laptop for things like compiling, daily tasks, my workflow, and some gayming (130-270 fps minecraft super high settings, ~70 fps cs:go high settings), and I paid about $400 less for it than my old laptop which broke.
>>
>>6591673
And it has a screen resolution upgrade on top of all the other higher specs from a 1600x900 on the old laptop to a 1920x1080 on the new laptop.

2. How would you go about setting up the 'now playing' line in cmdfetch, with foobar? I already installed the control server plugin + lua socket.
3. Not a question but are there any nice color schemes or fonts for mintty that you guys could recommend/share?

Cheers.
