Looks like a black hole. The thing around it is it's event horizon.

Specifically, it's Gargantua, from Interstellar. We haven't directly imaged a black hole yet, but it's a close guess of what one might look like with lots of matter accreting around it.
If you use an Android device, hit up the Play Market (it might be on the iOS App Store, I have no idea) and get the official NASA app - it features a new pic every day and we all know NASA has some kick ass image technology.
