Sorry, OP. Don't think about how he died. Think about how he lived and the memories you made with him. No man is truly dead until no one remembers him.
This is going to sound selfish, but I'm jealous of everyone who know/got to know their grandparents. I wish I could say I have fond memories of my grandparents, but I don't really have any. I have some memories of my grandmother, but I have maybe 1 or 2 truly fond ones of when she was in the nursing home. I didn't really get to know her either, since she died on the day before my 7th birthday. I didn't get to know any other grandparents because they all passed before I was a thought in my parents heads. I was the last child that my other grandmother got to meet, but she died when I was 2 months old.
In return for my spiel, I'll throw you some papes.

This, my granpa died a month ago, remembering the good things is the only thing we can do, being sad doesn't help at all. So get your lazy ass out of that chair and do something worthwhile, you will feel x10 times better, i can tell you bud.
Paper side, i only use solid pastel colors as background, so, little i can help there

Just been dropped from my university course due to poor performance, whilst my 2 best friends will continue on for another 3 years and likely have memorable times together, whilst I sit at home with my parents.

OP here. Sorry to hear that anon. I am in college too, and it is tough. I got rejected by all PhD programs, and I am currently trying to get admitted to Masters programs. For my Bachelors, I also got rejected most places the first time around. My advice is this: you will not get to go to college with your best friends; great. You will grow from this. You will get new best friends other places and learn things about yourself you couldn't have otherwise. This will also strengthen your relationships with your old true friends. Finally, do not give up. The system is set up to file out people as they climb up the ladder, the ones that make it are the ones that are persistent, and the ones that have money. Find what you love, go for it, persevere and fucking make it happen. You are capable of it.
>>6536550
Thanks man. Text break up is a shitty move. I can't really relate to you because the longest relationship I've had has been 2 years with a girl I didn't really love. I wish I could've had a relationship with someone I really cared about, but at the same time our breakup did not really hurt.
If you're grieving, you two must have been very attached to each other. If someone cared about you for that long, then I'm sure you will experience this again with someone else in the future.

Purpose in life is meaningless because you can do anything, you just find one thing that you like better than the rest. People say that the sky is the limit but people made it into space. There's only a little bit of purpose I can give you but it will work. My 2 things that give me purpose, is making peoples lives better and improving myself. The first one is self explanatory, the second one means even if you don't know what to do just start on one thing. Even if you can't get the motivation, just take the first step and once you get that done you'll get a feeling of fulfillment that will make you want to do more. That is the best purpose I can give in a short time.

Thanks for giving me some help fellas. Ultimately I think I'm just feeling worse about having to grow up, and losing friends that I've had since high school.
1st year of university - 6 or 7 friends all starting out as eager 1st years, go out drinking regularly, have some great times. Then they studied and progressed and I flunked. I keep telling myself that I'll keep in touch with them, but university was the only thing really tying us together these days. They will likely all stop playing vidya too.
Currently my plan is to just go back for the next year. I'll be 2-3 years behind my friends, but I'll just have to deal with that when I get there.
Having to sit here watching them make new friends and start new lives makes me ridiculously fuckin sad.
:'(
4chan is stereotyped as just being full of assholes and dick wads, but threads like these show that (at least on some boards) the community can actually be really good. Keep it up guys! :)

What are your reasons for not working hard enough? Did you not have enough of a drive to pursue the uni course? Think a little deeper, if you couldn't motivate yourself to do something, don't you think you just saved yourself 3 years of something that you have no motivation for? Maybe you were just slacking and fucked up, or maybe it wasn't meant to be and now you've been given another opportunity to find what it is you're supposed to do.
Best wishes Anon.

And with my last one, though slightly uplifting it still crushes me and tells a sort of story ro me.
Me, being a typical highschool and trying to smash everything with a hole in it, becomes a part of someones life who still cares about me and I care about to this day, just not with the whole love thing.
Graduate highschool and try ro find true love and found a girl that really means a lot to me, then a year after that we break up in a firey storm of hell. Screaming, crying, sympathy, and drea-.. no, nightmares for countless nights. Loses all perspective of love, happiness, and even motivation. Life begins to look up after 10 months of wallowing in self-pity and pizza. Begin doing whay I truly would call a passion, and work in a kitchen. Drop vidyas and sell computer so I can become "Myself" without googling it (Buys computer again 4 months later). Fast forward to last week when I meet my bosses best-friend, and his daughter. Nervous wreck with my tired eyes and social anxiety that hit hard after highschool.
Say something that makes her laugh and start a seemingly helathy friendship. She falls hard, and so do I, in only a day sadly. Love listening ro her and all those things, even like the feeling of missing her. Deliver her (not cheap) flowers at work, she's a barrista so of course I get coffee, and we giggle and stare at eachother off and on with smiles while she works. Feels like a 90's movie to the max, and I can't describe how it feels because it's that great. Get her number that night and text her when I get home. She's family with the girl I dated in highschool. She tells me she's worried that her family will be pissed at her, with good reason. I tell her I'll talk to her adoptive sister/cousin and see how she feels. I do that and have seemingly gotten blown off.
I know she works, and lives a busy life, but my anxiety and paranoia are killing me about it, worried she hates me.
Get text last night "sorry I've been busy" but no responae since.

My brother is a heroin/opiate addict. He gets clean for a while, but usually relapses. I've had the misfortune of having found him on the brink of death a couple times. Sometimes it seems like he wants to die, last time my mom asked him if he had a death wish, he said "I don't care" Feeling really hopeless right now.
>>6539748
I'm sorry anon.. A friend is in the same situation you are in, his brother has been selling drugs and doing H for a few years now. There is hope though, my uncle used to be addicted to the stuff too, went to a rehabilitation center and has been clean since. Don't give up on your brother anon, be supportive and help him out, even if he is reluctant.
>>6539748
I understand how he feels, I was addicted to Oxycontin and when I was using I no longer cared for anything. I remember laughing after railing god knows how much off my desk because I was thinking about the logistics of if I died. Stuff like who would find me if I died, who would sign my death certificate, how would my old friends that I hadn't seen or talked to in years find out. But I didn't find the idea of being dead a good or bad thing just another possibility. But thankfully I went to rehab and got clean I still drink on occasion but that side of me no longer flourishes. Know I'm just a depressed guy lurking around on 4Chan because if I go on facebook my GF will see I was up and ask why I was up so late, and I just can't bring myself to break up with her but I no longer feel love for her and I can't bring myself to do it because she's just so happy and I don't want to hurt her but I just don't feel for her anymore and I don't know why. I blame my mother and her suicidal actions that I had to stop when I was a teenager. The therapists warned me about this

On a different note, I know what you're going through. I've been there.
Death sucks, but it serves a purpose to make us realize that the time we have on this earth is limited, so we should make the most of what we have, and not live life reminiscing on the past about things we can't change.
I don't know what's wrong with me. Half of the week I find myself too nervous to go to class and just outside my apartment in general. I get dressed and ready and just.. can't go out the door or something. I'm in a major I hate and will probably only pass one class this semester and it's just because I'm pathetic for no reason

That is a heartbreaking story anon, I'm sorry about your situation. But taking care of your siblings is noble of you. These people have years of experience dealing with people that have problems like you, and they care. They know what questions to ask, and what problems can be fixed, and how. They'll help you understand what you can fix, and they will teach you how you can help yourself getting better. There are documented thinking tactics, daily rituals, or even breathing exercises that help tremendously. Try it out. Worse that can happen is you waste an hour of your life trying to improve the rest of it.

You don't need to try to be funny man. This isn't /b/, the community here is more tolerant and close knit
We each come to /wg/ for a reason. Some, like OP, because they're feeling down and crave the catharsis that only browsing beautiful wallpapers can bring, others to experience the joy in finding a new favourite wallpaper. It doesn't matter the reason, we are all here for a common purpose - the pursuit of beauty, the unattainable perfection found in art and imagery.
If you cant realise this, please take your 'funny' comments elsewhere as they are not appreciated.
