I've spent too much time reading 40k lore, might as well get some use out of it. Most of the books are decently written and pretty fun to read though as someone who used to do tabletop, on the rare occasions when I actually have time to read for pleasure anyway

Why are images of the Emperor so lacking?
I see a shitton of Space Marines, Eldar, a decent amount of Imperial Guard, but so few of the actual Emperor.
Why is that?

i know this has kind of been addressed already but personally i think the reason the Emperor has so little art is because its almost impossible to imagine him. Imagine someone who looks like every man youve ever seen at the same time, someone whose emotional state is impossible to read, and someone who you will never truly see because he decides how you perceive him. He is a lot like a Chaos God in that way, and that should tell you a lot about the Emperor. He is the most visceral and real thing in existence and at the same time is almost not even real. The Emperor is like the most benevolent eldritch abomination ever created, and he loves you. Try to wrap your head around that
