Probably not for a while, I'm not a scientist, but it seems to me that you'll need a lot of power to move one, plus all the machinery that would go into allowing it to function I think something like >>6418936 is more likely, but even then what would the advantages of it be over other vehicles?

Some highly decorated soldiers in the Red Army who've suffered debilitating mutilation can end up awakening to find themselves interred in robotic shells. Prosthetic Commandos are primarily used as bodyguards for dignitaries and in perimeter defense at missile silos located near the border or in high risk locales. They're a particularly favoured ceremonial figurehead in the Warsaw Pact's elaborate military parades.
Key Features-
-The large air intake is used for the pneumatic jump jets that allow for speedy short range engagements.
-150 round turret drum of vicious Warsaw Pact 5.45 x 39 mm rounds.
-Developmental reactive armour shatters outwards on ballistic impacts.
-The face plate can open to reveal more precise optical equipment for long range detection and engagement.
-The brain seen here is actually thickly laminated and not exposed. I'm don't know much about the field, but those mechs surely need a fuck ton of energy to work properly. Maybe if we build some more efficient solar panels and somehow start harvesting the energy from lightbolts those things could be affordable.
Also, their base is in most cases too small. The area that will support all the weight is not enough, forget the bipedes and imagine something like a tank as their "legs".
Finally, I assume this technology won't come early, but I look forward to the day we'll have some mechs battles.

MechE here, specializing in mechatronics at the moment so I don't have as much real world experience as much as understanding of the design.
Obviously you are correct in that you would need a ton of energy to even think about moving an arm, let alone simultanously moving an entire body. Unforunately solar wouldn't do the trick as they would be the most prone to be destroyed and their energy gain is fucking atrocious. What you would need is a fusion reactor, as they are super safe and have the potential to give you the energy you need (hopefully Germany gets theirs working).
As when this will come about, hopefully in our lifetime but most likely not. Exoskeletons and automated air support (hopefully automated bipedals!) are first. Large mechs will most likely come in when most security/armies are automated and larger mechs will serve more of a last resort / center node to give human mech pilots direct control. Mechs right now are just too much of a money sink/money lost potential to even think about sadly.
