I didnt do much with the status bar just themed the signal bars and battery, removed the carrier logo, the Protean tweak and HideHomeTime to hide the statusbar clock on the home screen

If you're using Nova, I think there's a way to apply only the icons. If you're using trebuchet then just check the icons box and apply.

Personally I would take the pape to the image modification thread and get the skyline brought up a little higher so the icons are all on the black backdrop, you probably dont need the page indicator so you could even get rid of that and drop the top row down the clock widget is huge but it makes sense since its filling a void and has all that information. I'm new to this. Just picked up an S6 Edge yesterday. The screen is so nice that I want a colourful pape instead of the dark ones I'd normally use.
Any suggestions? I think changing my clock/weather widget would be a good start and finding some icons that'd suit the wallpaper. I just haven't found anything I really like.

Your date is wayy too close to the edges of the box. Personally I don't really like how it looks in the first place, but that's just my opinion.
I'd recommend decreasing the font size for the date and making sure it's centered. Make sure there's enough padding on the inside of the rectangle.

It's supposed to emulate a sidebar.
Get nova launcher, change the animation to wipe, and duplicate all the widgets on the two pages beside the middle one. Here's some steps I took.
1. Create three homepages and set the middle one as the default/home.
2. Put all the widgets in the same spot on the two surrounding screens.
3. On the right-most and left-most screens, create your application shortcuts.
