If you're just looking for thoughts on the image composition, I'd say for this one you want to give the text some more breathing room to the left. Giving it about the same distance to the left border as it has to the top border, maybe moving it slightly up even since there seems to be a lot of white space at the top. If the aspect ratio doesn't matter you could also move the top border down. If you want to keep the aspect ratio, scaling up the character slightly would probably be a good idea since it seems outweighed by white space. Here it's similar, but I would keep the distance to the bottom border. So I'd just move the text a bit to the right. Generally when adding text to images you want it to have the same distance to all clearly defined borders around it, in this case the images borders. Vectoring is different to rendering. The pen tool in Photoshop is what you want to use as Ps is better at other things to do with rendering than illustrator.
The pen tool can take a while to get used to but when you do it gives the best results.

You shouldn't use imgur because imgur compresses images which makes them all artifact-y and generally shitty looking. There are much better upload sites that don't compress files, like pomf.is
I resized it to 12"x18" with a PPI of 300 so it SHOULD look crisp when you print it. You should come back one day and post what it looks like in a future thread if you ever get the poster made. Here's the image:
