What was your experience like playing Crash Bandicoot 2 for the first time?

"This is tight" -Me, 2014
Coolest shit ever. It was like Crash 1 with the level advancement mechanics tweaked. And jetpacks.
>>3346414
jetpacks make everything better
Amazement that someone can get 3d platformers right after the clusterfuck that was Mario 64 and its embarrassingly bad controls and camera.

I couldn't read yet because I was a little kid so the text looked exactly like this
I was like "this is total shit. this character is fucking gay. he reminds me of Poochie the Dog from that Simpsons episode."
>>3346369
It was gud.

sup jumping trash fanboy
do you ever get bored of spamming the same dank memes?

I agree with that anon anyway.

You have been visited by the ORANGE HALLWAY DOG OF PANTS AND LOADING
Watered-down, momentumless platforming will come to you, but only if you post "sleep tight dead franchise" in this thread.
>>3346564
I know you really, really want for this to be a thing, but Poochieing is kind of already understood as hamfisted novelty/pandering update in an already *existing* series
Crash was bland, kind of embarrassing committee tripe from the get go.
>>3346369
What is it about early 3D games rendered at absurdly high resolutions that I find so beautiful?
>>3346369
"This shit is great" sums it up. And unlike others, it hasn't changed with time.

sleep tight, dead franchise
>>3346369
It looked pretty good and the gameplay felt just as simple and enjoyable as it is now.
>>3348174
Atleast Crash doesn't have a horrible camera system and buggy gameplay.
It was one of the first games I had for the PS and I liked it a lot. Third one was good too. It was fun figuring out how to get all the crystals.
"It's not as good as that other one [Warped], but it's still pretty fun."
>>3348530
Warped was the worst entry in the ND Crash series, though.
Too many gimmicky non-platforming stages.
Loved it.
I had this, my cousin had the first one and our other cousin had Warped. We would always trade. Good times.
>>3346438
Camera yes, but control wise Mario 64 is still one of the most fluid 3D platformers I've played.
>>3346369
Playing it right after Crash 1 I can safely say that it went in the opposite direction that the Spyro series went, which is to not only refine the formula but to also perfect it. It also did the "more of the same but better" type sequel that Banjo-Tooie was trying to do but didn't make.
Honestly how did Insomniac come to the conclusion that that minigame bullshit was a good direction for the series.
>>3348561
that sounds like fun
>>3348723
I think Crash 3 it's fair share of gimmicky minigame bullshit levels as well (although they're still in the platforming world they don't count) like the tiger levels in China, airplane, jetskis
I never completed 1 or 2 crash, heard 1 is a great platformer. but then I hear others saying it has shit momentum-less movement.

Anyway, I'm just fucking with ya, Crashboy. I really do like JF a lot better, but I played Crash 2 as a kid. I never liked it much, but I don't hate it.
>>3346369
It was on a demo disc or something. One of the snow levels. I played the level and then moved on.
[spoiler[It was the only one in the trilogy I never actually owned at any point.[/spoiler]
i'm too old to remember.

i like Burning Rangers better.
