What are your thoughts on this game and the sequel?
Amazing game. I find it hard to go back to the originals now, just too old. But Commandos 2 will always be my favorite, still very playable today. C3 was cool but way to damn hard I found.

Commandos 2 is a 10/10 masterpiece. Very good games all of them.
>>3345820
I bought the trilogy years ago but never got around to playing them, should probably fix that
Commandos is a fantastic game but it's not for everyone. If you like it, also check out Desperados and Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood.

I like how it is actually hard compared to 2 and later games. 2 was so goddamn easy with cigarettes/wine.
>>3345820
Great fucking games. Totally forgot about them though until this thread. wew
>>3348334
Yeah this, played the first one a couple of years after the 2nd and I got stuck on the 4th level
new commandos is in the making yo
>>3348269
nice ;)
Commandos reminded me a lot of Army Men 2, which in my opinion is one of the best top-down shooters of all time.
A friend lent me 1 and 2 which one should I play first?
>>3349346
Play with ur dik xD
>>3348915
It's gonna be a mobile game, so probably shit.
>>3345820
like these games pretty much, though i cant buy it on gog in my country anymore.
Are there any similiar games?
Whats your opinion on Company of Heroes?
Is it any similar?
Thought about getting it.
I remember it being hard as fucking granite.
coming rooiiight ova
>>3345820
I played it many years ago until I got stuck on level 12 (this game is hard as hell) and l never finished. I have all three now and would like to try and beat them at some point. I don't play a lot of war games but this series is unique.

It was pretty tough.
Fun times
>Tunisia (I think), stuck
>Set useless char in the open (sniper iirc)
>Roaming guard spots him, aims at him
>his buddy arrives, also aims at him
>( the exact same shit happens several times)
>Green Beret makes a backstab train that would make a good TF2 spy feel inadequate
Another...
>That one level that was like a Guns of Navarone parody iirc
>Sneak the driver past a lot of guards like motherfucking Snake
>Steal SdKfz
>Leisurely ventilate every german in the island
Also there was another instance where I stole a tank, then got the disguised spy into it and the Germans just ignored me while I slaughtered, them, haha.

im cummin!

dirty fucker you just made me buy the trilogy out of pure nostalgia
forgot the difficulty level of these fucking games was like breaking out of jail with a toothbrushthanks you
Just downloaded these games. What am I in for?
Is this one of those games where the first one is very good, and the rest are garbage?
>>3358673
True, hardcore stealth games.
Lots and lots of waiting for the right moment to move.
>>3358676
First one was good but really hard.
Second one was still good but easier, with lots of non-stealth tricks to win.
Third one was actually still pretty good but too short.
We don't talk about the fourth one.
>>3351634
Very similar are:
>Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
>Desperados 1
Super pretty games, but you usually have to force yourself to play stealth, because it's very tempting and easy to turn these into corner shooting games.
My commandos don't have voices when I give them commands, and the movies don't work. Is there a fix? (first game)
>>3358770
>Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Oh shit, I remember playing the demo of that when I was a kid, not having any clue what to do and just fucking around, and also, dying. Fun times.
>>3359015
Play it on a VM? Last time I played it was on an actual PIII Win 98 shitbox so not sure the compatibility mode works properly.
>>3359362
does the GOG version run Dosbox? Is that a VM?
>>3360134
I think it was a native windows app, rather than DOS based. No ide if the GOG version has a patch or upgrade for newer machines.
A Virtual Machine is kind of an emulator. Download something like VirtualBox, to create a VM and install an OS to it, never tried one for /vr/ stuff myself since I have an old PC laying around, though.
I remember a friend saying this was good when I was a kid, then I got a demo for the first games expansion pack, the level where you have to sneak into a base and capture some nazi officer.
Huge level, hard as hell, no tutorials, no easy levels to ease me in, no internet to actually look up what the fuck I was supposed to do. Just clicking around trying to figure it out as I went. At first I tried to run at the enemy all guns blazing. Great times.
Took me a week to finish, went out and bought the game the next day.
>>3361892
ever finished the main game?
