is bust-a-move/puzzle bobble the best arcade puzzler series ever?

is bust-a-move/puzzle bobble the best arcade puzzler series ever? i believe it is

It's good but both Pyuo Pyuo and Panel De Pon have much higher skill ceilings which leads to more fun in the end.

Yeah it's so great there's a million clones of it on Facebook. And my mom plays every single one of them.

I personally love Tetris and Columns more.

columns is the shit
>>
>>3340631
I love puzzle bobble 3, there are so many stages you can just keep playing it forever.
>>
I fucking LOVE the Puzzle Bobble series 1-3 but 4 is kind of a dud and onwards from that...yeah. Puyo Puyo managed to keep things fresh for longer, Magical Drop was a great trilogy too. It's in the argument at least.

Serious question here, is Puzzle Bobble the most cloned game in history? I think it even has Tetris and SMB beat.
>>
I used to live right by a small store that had this game in an arcade unit, used to play it all the time every time I went in there to buy something. Really love that game and it is quite addictive. Don't give 2 shits how many normies like it too

I'd like to get more into puzzle games, because I like how comfy they can be. I tried Columns recently, never had that game as a kid. That one is fun and challenging too.

I don't think it can get anywhere near the Chinese handheld tetris clones. But as far as flash games go, the most common one I see is that game where you have a huge pile of coloured blocks, and when you click on one, every matching coloured adjacent block will disappear - the game goes on until you only have single blocks left, which cannot be removed (the trick is to remove shit in such an order so the falling single blocks will now be adjacent to similar colours, so they can be removed too).

>Columns
Such a sombre atmosphere.
I love it, but even as a kid it had me thinking about stuff like the fleeting reality of human existence and our cosmic insignificance while playing it.

Well, I'm no weeb. I just came across the game in a ROM collection and thought it was a great concept for a puzzle game.

don't mind me, just being the most underrated puzzle game

I loved that game, but in retrospect, it is extremely bad in competitive play. They needed a counter-system like the one in Puyo Puyo Tsu and onwards.

As it is, the game is just a race to who can do the first 40+ drop.

>mfw colorblind
>mfw like puzzle games a lot
>get Bust-a-Move
>Can't distinguish red bubbles from the green ones in motion because I can't see the pattern
>punctually screw up combos

It sucks man, at least Puyo Puyo has the eyes which are an instant giveaway for which is which but it's full of puzzle games that don't have patterns or something so I can't play those at all.
Same thing for some shmups where I simply can't see the bullets comings.

In any case, my favorite arcade puzzle game might very well be Mr. Driller G, though it's kind of an unorthodox puzzle game.
I also loved One Piece Mansion on the PS, great hybrid between puzzle and management game with awesome graphics and great gameplay,

You could try out the Game Boy or WonderSwan versions.

Why would you consider that a bad thing?

the real question is

why the fuck they can't do a decent game anymore?

What the hell happened? Just Re-make the arcade games, 1:1 copy including pixel graphics!

Bust-A-Move 2 / Puzzle Bobble 2 is a great game. I still play this game all the time.

Magical Drop arguably beats it.

My all time favorite though is Taisen Puzzle dama. Look into it if you haven't played it already.

Oh, fuck off, kid. Columns was the shit. Sorry you're too much of a Tetris-fag to accept the facts.
>>
>>3344970
Where did I say it was a bad thing?
Sombre, even harrowing experiences can be quite cathartic. Comfy even in the case of Columns.
