Serious question: the Chrono Trigger cartridge I've had since the early 2000s says "Made in Mexico". Is this a bootleg?
It's normal for carts of that age. I had plenty of legit Genesis games stamped with "Made in Japan, assembled in Mexico" or the like. If you drive a Chevy or a Nissan it's likely it was assembled in Mexico too, haha.

Nintendo had a assembly industry in Mexico. QAll the carts previous to 1994 would necessarly say Japan, because there was no compan in Mexico yet
