ITT: Objectively terrible games that you like, and the reason you like them regardless.
I actually really like Sonic R, in spite of the terrible controls, the graphics are very nice for their time and have a very vibrant colour pallete, and the soundtrack is upbeat and very catchy. I also like the multiple paths through each stage, as well as unlocking new characters and collecting the chaos emeralds. I would never say this game is good, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it and I think the good parts of the game make it worth playing.

I think the only thing I didn't necessarily like about this game was how tedious it felt to get the emeralds. Even then, though, after you figure it out it becomes fun.
It's not perfect, and it's not super polished, but I loved this game as a kid.

I still think the controls are the best controls of any 3D Sonic game, excluding the boost games. You just gotta play with a keyboard and remember the drift buttons exist.
