I have all the NES, SMS and TG16 games on my PC. There are so many I haven't even loaded 1/3 of them

What are some lesser known masterpieces to try out?

This gem, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers was the first game besides SMB1 I beat as a kid.
>>
Pic unrelated?

>lesser known
>Rescue Rangers

"no"
>>
>>3317974
that's a tricky one. It's certainly unrelated to
>What are some lesser known masterpieces to try out?
but it fits
>Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers was the first game besides SMB1 I beat as a kid
perfectly. The two statements though, have nothing to do with each other.

I love 8 Eyes, but even I know that game is not worth playing. It's seriously fucking shit.

I also loved and owned this game OP. It was probably the first game I ever beat, before SMB. Actually I never beat SMB as a kid 'cause I couldn't figure out the 8th castle.

Anyway yeah it was great. The 2 player mode was a lot of fun, too. You could throw boxes and stun your friend.

I'd like to add pic related to your list, though perhaps it's not that lesser known?
>>
>>3318098

it's worth playing just for it's outstanding soundtrack. and outside of that it's a fun game, you just have some seriously shitty taste

>>3318135
Bucky was a hell of a lot harder than SMB. Especially the final couple levels.

>>3318054
It's interesting how many title screens just had black backgrounds.
>>
>>3318197
why is that interesting?
>>
>>3318203
Because of all the colors available they just chose a plain black. They could've done anything but did nothing. I guess it just helped the text stand out better, but still. Blue was a popular choice too.
>>
>>3318227
>They could've done anything but did nothing
black is a fairly powerful color (in the sense of a palette entry)

It's also the only color available that reasonably disguises the rectangular nature of the screen

> chip and dale
> madterpiece
Lolno

Funnily enough this was the third game i ever beat after SMB1 and 2
>>
>>3318237
let's not forget, it also reduces the overall brightness of the screen. Much easier on the eyes
>>
I don't know about "masterpieces" but these are fun

Monster in my Pocket
Moon Crystal
Panic Restaurant
both Tiny Toons games
Mighty Final Fight
New Ghostbusters II (the Euro one)

Fuckin' loved that game as a kid. Great soundtrack and solid gameplay.

>>3318239

lol I couldn't beat 2 until I was a grownup 20 years later

2 is hard as shit

Ever tried Castlevania or even better, the hardly ever mentioned rare gem Metroid?

Fucking kids.

My post was written very poorly. The first bit i.e.
>I also loved and owned this game OP. It was probably the first game I ever beat, before SMB. Actually I never beat SMB as a kid 'cause I couldn't figure out the 8th castle.
>Anyway yeah it was great. The 2 player mode was a lot of fun, too. You could throw boxes and stun your friend.
was about Chip N' Dale, then the last sentence was about Bucky.

I did beat Bucky as well though, when I was about 7 or 8. Only reason I couldn't beat SMB when I was that age was because I was too dumb to figure out the last level's castle's sequencing.

It gets touted as the castlevania clone no one played, but it's sluggish and not very fun. It might get better once you figure out what how to get around the slow swing times, or if you utilize the co-op option, but when I played it, it felt like a game that only gets fun when you've sunk a lot of time getting good at it, which is a gamble because you may spend time getting good only for the game to remain crappy.

the Chip and Dale game is as famous and as widely played and discussed as Castlevania and Metroid
