ITT: Games you surprisingly liked or thought would be shit and ended up liking.
I'm rather pessimistic when it comes to movie based games, but I found this game to be fairly good. The music is catchy and gameplay is pretty fun and I've gotten addicted to wanted to beat it quite a few times.
Played the shit out of that as a kid. Prior i had only played Mario stuff so even being able to go directions other than right felt like a leap!

Hold there now, the gameboy port isn't pure shit. It's different and nothing impressive, but still a decent game.
This game is really fun. It has a great soundtrack too. Always surprised by how little attention it gets.Make sure it's the GBC game, the monochrome Game Boy has an LJN game called The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which is completely different and much worse.
I thought Cool Spot would be shit bit its a pretty good game. Can be very frustrating though.
I always thought Toe Jam and Earl looked fucking stupid as a kid but years later I realized ots not shovelware and is actually fun and incredibly unique
Based on name alone I would have thought Pocky and Rocky was garbage too but that's one of the best games on snes

I was expecting it to be bad but it seemed a surprisingly competent basketball game.
Sure, it's really just a port of the more colorful NES counterpart, but I did enjoy this game a lot more than I thought I would when my sister had it.

I couldn't imagine it translating well to GBC at all.. But recently I've been realizing there's a ton of excellent ports on both game boy and color

It's not really a port of Metal Gear Solid, they only called it that in the west since Konami of Europe already filed the trademark. Also, Metal Gear was in 2D before MGS with the original MSX2 and NES games.
