Overlooked/Underrated Games

I had this game when I was a kid. I remember playing it all the time and just thinking it was the bee's knees. Recently I saw it at a garage sale and bought it for .75 cents turns out that the game is actually shit.

It's slow, has terrible slow down problems. The plot is generic and seemingly irrelevant. Music is mediocre at best. The combat is odd, enemies have weird hotboxes and it's just not a good game 5/10 at the very best.

I would argue it is not in the slightest underrated. It is an OK game and is remembered as such.

I kind of remember disliking this one when I was a kid. Was not a big fan of the maze level design and I remember thinking the controls were a bit weird, like maybe the hitboxes were too big or I dunno.

Played it again recently and I actually liked it, it was a weird case of inverted nostalgia goggles.

AI is cheap as fuck, but it's still a fun game. I love the dithered visuals too.

Well, the controls are fine to me and there isn't really anything special about the hitboxes. I agree that the maze design is kind of annoying, though. It's easy to get lost in some levels, like the underground one.

Yeah, that's just what I remembered from when I played it as a kid, but playing it again now the controls were just fine, I love the taz-mania like spin move, and using the sledgehammer feels great. I haven't got too far in it though, should try to beat it someday.

I also unironically love M.C. Kids, it's a solid platformer with comfy music.
