So I've been trying to play the original Baldur's Gate on a virtual machine, but the piece of crap runs too fast to be played correctly and I'm too stupid to figure out what to do. Anyone willing to help with that?

What OS are you running? BG tends to run on just about anything and shouldn't need a VM.
Unless you're running Linux or Mac of course. There's a config that comes with the game and that can set a framerate limit. Try that.
