And now game journalists act like someone's religious grandma, if only they could progress back to where they came from.

Did you forget that computers had internet connections, or were you just trying to make an awkward attempt at an insult?
>>

> thinking that's the joke they were making
holy shit the world is so weird now
>>
>>3298786
What happened to bantz like this? Not just in vidya advertising, but advertising in general.
>>
>>3299572

It became more professional and less childish, nothing wrong with that.

Not a native-english speaker so I'm not sure if I'm getting the joke here... what's the connection between PC gamers and seeing breasts? It's just "mature games for mature gamers such as myself" or it's a word-play I'm not getting?
>>
>>3293538
What was the name of that gaming magazine "for men" that came out around 1999? I remember it cost like 2.99 USD.
>>
How is this still here when no one posts in it? Is it one guy basically bumping it when its about to fall off?
>>
>>3299725
Basically what you said. It's saying consoles are for little kids. Playing on PC and having seen breasts are both signs of being a mature, cool adult.
>>
>>3299748
Not sure which one you're thinking of, but I remember that Maximum PC had an issue that talked about the best sources of online porn which was mildly controversial at the time. My mom threw it away and canceled the subscription, lel
>>
>>3299931
>playing on PC
>mature, cool adult

Well, not too sure about that, but I'm disappointed there wasn't a more actual clever word-play if the ad just means that.

GTFO kotaku faggot

>it's another /vr9k/ thread about how awesome sexual advertisement manipulation is
for fuck's sake you guys already have that /pol/ thread why do you need to shit up the board even more
>>
What does this even remotely have to do with /vr/?

If we're talking about retro ads: Advertising agencies back in the day were utterly retarded. Sex appeal doesn't speak for the quality of the product being advertised. Am I really expected to rush out and buy something because the ad features an image of a woman in a jumpsuit? Yeah, that's going to suck if I take the product home and realize it's some Chinese-manufactured pile of shit.

IMO, ads that try to target consumers through exploitation likely echo the fact that the manufacturer's product sucks to begin with. If the product can't sell on its own merits, then why should the consumer care?
